Crysis
Tac Gun
I am just fighting the final boss and this woman is keep telling me to use the Tac Gun to lock on this second cannon thing, but I cannot do it. I did lock on the first one and it worked.

I think you need to put the crosshairs on the designated target area, then wait until it locks on...

I already did that with the first cannon, it worked, but it does not work for the second one. This is some kind of a glitch, so I can't pass the level, but I was wondering if there is any way to solve this.

But none of you understand. I killed all aliens after locking on the first cannon, and now Helena is keep saying "Use the Tac Gun to lock on", but I can't.
I understand, I have the exact same problem. First one worked fine, second one, not a chance. Looking for a solution will update if i find one.
I had the same problem. TAC gun would not lock on to second (right) wing of the alien mothaship.

Did a google search, suggestions were to swap weapons and fire, try again, didn't work. Another suggested that I'd taken out a alien mothaship turret before I should.

In the end, I returned to a save game to fight the 'crab boss' on the front of the aircraft carrier. Follow the voice-over girlies instructions exactly. Do not fire on crab boss until told to (and get the 'snowy' effect that tells you boss is vulnerable).

Damned good idea to have the gauss gun, that can take down the flying alien squids that harass you, in a few shots, although reload is a bit slow. Better than the mini-gun. Use the rocket laucher to take out the crab boss. There is an unlimited supply of them on the left-hand side of the dying aircraft carrier (as well as a few gauss gun re-fills). Use speed to get to them, in between the crab boss' freeze ray. I hid behind the shield in the centre of the carrier, perfectly safe.

Once the crab boss was down, run over to the left side, behind the crates where the unlimited supply of missiles are. DO NOT SAVE GAME MANUALLY!!!

Wait until told by girlie to attack turrets (and again get the snowy effect). Take them down with your never-ending missile supply. Ditto with the side-wings, and at all stages.

That worked for me. I think there is an error(s) in the end-script. You have to do everything just right, when told.

Even after doing all that, the game wouldn't let me use TAC to lock-on to the the opened hatch on the underside of the alien mothaship.

You'll know the script is broken if you aren't being constantly being attacked by the hovering grounf squids on the last stage (gauss gun is your best friend). Just reload last automatic game save. NEVER MAKE YOUR OWN SAVE.

Took a while, but I got there.
Thank you for the replay, but I did make many manual saves, and I already deleted the previous ones, since I don't want to have too many saves when loading...I also had a glitch at the end of the previous missions, I had to make a manual save then I would be able to get past that part. But after I did that, the final mission does not appear in the saves, like all others do, when you get to them. Now what should I do?

Maybe not specific enough. When I reloaded a save gane, I returned to the point JUST before stepping out on to the flight deck to take on the crab boss. And never made my own save-game from that point. Follow girlies instructions exactly, do not attack until told (not by Psycho, by girlie). And then I waited a few more seconds to be certain.

Worked, I think saving your own game stuffs up the final game script.

And, with great embarrassment, I'll admit I swapped to easy mode just to complete those final couple of bosses. I thought the end woulfd have you saving Prophet... but that's an unfinished story... and not exactly according to the graphic novels.
Alright, thanks for your advice. I already beat the game, I had it when it first released. I also did make manual saves and it worked, so this is a bit weird for me.
Agreed, end game was a bit broken for me too. I only got it (and Crysis 2) after playing Crysis 3 (sadly, on EA's Origin). I had to after I saw the earlier games on excellently reduced sale on Steam recently.

Took a bit of jerking around to get Crysis 1 going, no problems with Crysis 2 (half-way through that).

But I've decided Crysis 1 is the best of them, even with the clunky nano-suit control. Luckily I have long fingers, maybe because I'm used to playing bass guitar.
