Well that's true to some extent. OP never elaborated on why they got bored so we have to make some assumptions. That's why I opened with the comment I did.
OP has the game. Only way for them to answer the question would be to jump in again and see for themselves if the changes are significant enough.
No not really you had a small amount of bug fixes drip fed over the 9 months, an fov slider, town maps, eat button and the creation club and honestly people blaming others for no installing mods correctly when the creation club just has you click a install button then it does the rest are just stupid.
Bethesda still has a bland, content sparse game with a badly implemented creation club and now they want you to pay $7 for a mission $3 for a skin and $10 for furniture that includes the ability to build unlimited storage chests.
The game is a buggy broken mess and they want to charge you for extras while the game game still is in a state I would consider alpha or beta testing stage. When you have supposedly Bethesda approved mods on the creation club killing shills 900 hour plus saves then you know to stay away from it.
We know in macro why most find it boring, but people are individuals with individual tastes and the only way for an individual to know is try the game. OP already has it so they are out only some time.
I was never assuming that, however I did provide objective information - which is what OP is asking for.
It's a pretty poor description of the "sustenance" feature.
There are 2 states for your character "fed" and "malnourished" (respectively "hydrated" and "dehydrated" for drinks).
"fed" lasts 30 minutes after consuming a food item and provides 3 different buffs (same for hydrated).
"malnourished" is the default state (no food consumed during the last 30 minutes) and applies 3 significant debuffs. Those go away if you become "fed". (same for hydrated).
That way it's much better to be fed and hydrated especially if you go out fighting and exploring, but you can stay malnourished infinitely if you just want to build or afk in a city.
No, as I said you can't die from being malnoursihed in Starfield, unlike in many traditional games with survival features.
You can't die DIRECTLY from being malnourished, but, the debuffs certainly aren't going to help you survive.....
I think there is a game mechanic that needs some adjustment... After all, 'malnourished' isn't a binary condition..... Of course, there is already a mod that addresses that. :D
You need to install the baka achievement mod. Fixes all of that.
The most annoying restriction while being malnourished is the carry weight limitation that typically removes your ability to fast travel. I can do just fine in combat with the debuff otherwise (although its obviously preferable to be in good shape)
I dont think the binary mechanic is a bad thing, typically in BGS games with survival mode you just consume food immediately after getting the debuff, so the more advanced states are mostly a wasted feature.
With the right perks/power, overencumbered becomes a non-issue. You can still sprint back to your ship, and once you are in the pilots seat, you can go wherever you want. Or, just getting back to the ship, (250 meters I think) and you can unload into the cargo hold, and then fast travel.
Its quite a big deal to have to run back to your ship instead of just fast travelling instantly. It multiplies the time needed to reach your destination by a 2 or 3 digits number.
