Has anyone run the Red Mile 28 times?
So I learned today that there's a special reward if you beat Donovan's record for how many times you run the Red Mile and return alive.

You unlock a decoration you can build at an outpost or penthouse/home as well as get a gun.

I'm so going to do it now that I know that, though not all in a row. Just wondering if anyone else has done it and if the gun is "leveled". As in will I at least get an advanced version (my character level is 184)?

I'd mainly be doing it for the decoration anyway, but you know, I thought I'd ask.

I'm on NG+11, I have no plans of going to another NG+ any time soon.

Ah, oké. Still 28 times... but at your level you could possible ignore all mobs anyway? I am not ready yet to do it that many times though lol.

It doesn't really take that long to run it. Maybe 5 minutes?

I don't ignore (all) the mobs, I actually kill any that are in front of me as I'm running. I still have combat skills to rank up. Those skill challenges take a really long time and a whole lot of enemies at the higher ranks.

My plan right now is to run it once or twice every time I visit if it is daylight when I arrive. Until I hit 28. I'm not the type to do something like that "all in a row" just to get it done. That's not much fun.

It wasn't even fun to do once.
They really have to be out of touch with players if they thought doing the Red Mile 29 times is fun or engaging.

Just another dumb time sink. Starfield is a game with a hundred dumb things, that all take forever. Bethesda just needs you to like one and then you have spent 50 hours in the game and the fanbois can say "but you played 100 hours".

My character just saw that and would not let it stand. Like archery tournaments to Robin Hood, can't not engage. HOWEVER, I (player) am not mercenary about it because I (character) am not mercenary about it. We just crack a sideways grin at Donovan every trip to The Red Mile to upgrade ships with MYOB modules. I think I'm on like 5 or 6 maybe.

from google im getting its just a rare AA-99 (with Cornered effect)

And the decoration. Don't forget the decoration.

I actually like building and decorating. One of the things I'm most looking forward to with the release of the CK is getting a LOT more stuff we can build with, just for decorating.

Has anyone done the Red Mile 29 and gone through the Unity?
Do you actually lose the rewards for doing it?

You definitely lose the gun. No question about that.

I've no idea about the decor item unlock. That's a blueprint, not an inventory item. You don't lose any of the normal ones.

"The Red Mile is supposed to be dangerous, let's have it be guarded by some kind of scaled badgers / mini dinosaurs"

"Oh ♥♥♥♥, it turns our scaled badgers / mini dinosaurs don't have all that great movement AI and the player can just jetpack past them without ever getting hurt once. What are we gonna do?"

"I know, we just give them a ranged explosive attack, like they spit grenades!"

To be fair, I ignored all the mobs when I did it as part of the Ranger questiline and I was around level 28-30 at the time. It's easy enough just to outrun them and boost on top of things to avoid them.

Thanks for the reply.

It seems really badly thought out. I doubt the people designing the Red Mile knew about the Unity and NG+ or somewhere the communication broke down.

Did the red mile twenty nine times and got a pat on the back With no achievement and I call it bulls***.
