Companion not gaining affinity? bug?

Started a new game awhile ago and have been traveling with Sarah since the intro quest and I noticed she hadn't tried to talk to me yet. I ran a console command "Getav COM_affinity" and after hours of her following me and several quests her affinity is still at 0.00.
Anyone else run into this or know how to fix it?

EDIT: ran "SetAV COM_AffinityLevel 100" command to get to 100.00 and trigger a conversation, which i selected a response and got "Sarah liked that". After the conversation ran "Getav COM_affinity" again and its still at the 100.00 I set i to.

EDIT: I also swapped her out for Sam and checked his affinity, also sitting at 0.00

First of all, are you running any mods? Also, it wouldn't hurt to verify the game files with Steam.

No mods, just kicked off a verification. Good idea

Since the OP stopped commenting after his last post where he said he's running a verification, that may have fixed his problem. Try running a verification.

Did you happen to notice things like "Sara liked that" or Sara hated that"??? If you've received a glut of "Sara hated that" responses to some or all of your actions...then she isn't going to speak to you much at all OR become more affable....
