Is Watchtower compatible with Fleet Commander mod?
Like the title says I'm wondering if Watchtower is compatible with the original fleet commander mod that gives you the option to have a small fleet. Or should I uninstall it? On my current playthrough I haven't done anything with it yet but I noticed Watchtower also allows you to command a fleet.

I saw that Kinggath said you can have both but just wanted to hear from people who have tried using both at the same time. From my understanding the Watchtower ships are much bigger and you can assign crew to them but the fleet commander mod doesn't allow you to assign crew so maybe it is better to have those as small watchdog fighters? This is definitely more of an endgame/ng+ set up.

HeyYou May 30 @ 6:43am
From what I have been reading, just load FC after WT, and all should be well.

Kinggath has said both can run together. In my experience, using two different mods that touch the same stuff is generally unwise. I wouldn't do it.

And that is good advice.

Question becomes, CAN you remove FC without borking your save?

Probably not. Which is why, personally, I'd start over with a new profile. If I were too invested in the character, I'd maybe keep some backed up saves before trying, then installing WT and ignoring all FC features while using WT features. While Kinggath is always on the money, the question is: is the author of FC also, or will/have they introduce(d) an unknown that will lead to a break 100 hours in?

They function separately so I'd guess as long as you never used FC or removed all ships from your fleet you should be fine as it uses it's own separate console

Yeah Kinggath explained that they can run simultaneously, and he takes great pains to make sure his mods don't introduce conflicts. My only point is that it's safer not to run them in a parallel install. Just a friendly experienced warning that you might discover something wasn't so compatible 100 hours down the line. I'm not trying to talking you out of it, as long as you're healthily aware... hey, go for it.

thats not new, updating creations has been wonky since last year

I found that exiting and restarting the game works as well (although the creation menu will still display incorrect version and tell you to update while it's already up to date).

Thank you.

Yeah, that's not the dramatic bit of advice I think the poster was hoping for. Updating has been working fine for me since after SS released, but others still need to rely on delete and reinstall. It's an issue with Creations, not any one particular mod.
