Did SF just copy Mass Effect?

Like so much things those games have in common, I think Bethesda is really lazy at inventing new stuff and making fun games games. They just either copy and rehash their own games ("Skyrim") or use what is already popular and out there. (ME Andromeda).

They have spacesuits, guns and space ships ? Damn they both copied Battlestar galactica
there is nothing original about sf besides its outdated loading screens that open you up to empty planets with nothing to do. bethesda really tried to make a video game with the least amount of effort as possible but failed with flying colors.

Take a moment to think about how grumpy and nonsensical that sounds.

By your logic, Call of Duty must have copied Counter-Strike because they both have guns and multiplayer. That’s exactly the level of ‘argument’ you just made.

But if you actually compare ME: Andromeda and Starfield beyond surface-level elements, you’ll see they share far more DNA than most other sci-fi games. Bethesda isn’t exactly known for originality—they either recycle their own work (Skyrim reskins, anyone?) or lean heavily on what’s already trending. And Starfield is just another example of that.

“If you do it is wrong, if i do it its okay”…

Sorry but this isn’t an actual comparison, you are doing the exact thing momopovich pointed out.
not really, more like firefly
I can't believe Mass Effect Andromeda just stole that whole sequence of falling and suffocating from Total Recall.

No,

base building, ship building, proc gen planet areas, open skill tree, item manipulation and persistence, nothing of that is in ME andromeda

Andromeda is a ME (corridor shooter) with light open world / space exploration element

Starfield is a Bethesda fallout/space sandbox crossover

Not to mention that starfield started its active development before me andromeda even released.
imagine spending 400$ million on a game that's 100% copied from other games in the past. sorry you won't find anything original here welcome to bethesda gaming. hehe

Aw, you really think a game has to be officially released before another studio can start borrowing ideas?
That’s… precious.

Yes.

Where are the talking aliens? Who thinks Starfield completely copies another game.

Education system needs to be better so we have less threads like this one.

Doesn't matter, no one played ME:A anyway.

information needs to be out before you can copy said information.

2 years prior to the release of me andromeda they started developing starfield. So no, they didn’t copy andromeda as there was nothing to copy.

Care to make an actual argument instead of just being dismissive?
