Is it optimized yet ?
Looking to give it a try but heard it was not well optimized on launch and very demanding even for high end cards.
I have a RTX 3070 Ryzen 7 5800X
Will it be good fps and nice graphics for me?

Your system isn't high end, so you shouldn't expect to play at consistently 60+ fps with everything set on ultra. But with sensible settings, you should be able to play just fine, especially lower than 4K, such as 1080p monitors. Your main bottleneck is going to be the graphics, but medium or high on most graphics settings should work OK, and at mostly medium I think you should have no trouble hitting consistent 60 FPS. It will just be a matter of tweaking the various settings to get something you're comfortable with.

It isn't a demanding game at all.

It was very "well optimized" for PC at launch. Wherever you got your information, seek another source. At launch I was getting 100+ fps everywhere except major cities during the day, running Ultra at 4k on a 4090. Now, with DLSS+FG I'm getting 140+ fps everywhere with dips to 100+ fps in major cities during the day.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It buttery smooth on ultra for me and I don't have the best gaming PC in the world, only a i5 4600kf, RTX 4070 and 32gig RAM.

My rig is comparable (rtx3070, i7-10700 32MB) and doesn't have that issue. But of course every system is different, and some games just don't always play nice with every hardware & software configuration. Anything from drivers to antivirus and yes, game code can have an effect on our setups. But the good news is there is likely a fix!

Most obvious question that comes to mind, is your game definitely installed on a SSD? We've had at least one person who thought it was but turns out Steam installed it on an HDD due to space limitations.

No Starfield by #Bethesda is not optimized yet well I have replace my GPU's cooler fans as one fan has failed and yes I have ordered a new one too, but luckily my old Radeon RX 5600 GPU has the same fans as my current GPU. So will have to soon shutdown my gaming PC.

This is obviously a problem with your machine. I mean, as you've already stated, you have parts failures. What else isn;t up to snuff?

you literally described the very definition of unoptimized lol. If you release a product that a majory of customers can't properly use because it's has requirements way beyond the target group's capabilities, this, sir, is unoptimized. And given how sht the game looks, it shouldn't have nearly taken the amount of ressources than it does.

If you think the game looks like ♥♥♥♥ then you must be high. The graphics are very good in this game.
I originally played this on ultra at 1080p on a 2070 Super with only minor loss of fps in heavy cities. Since I've upgraded to a 4070 Super, I play same but at 1440p and zero drops in cities.

You're sitting right between so can't see you having too many issues.

Majority of customers? Not only is that simply not true in this instance, the demographic has nothing to do with optimisation.

And this is why the term "unoptimized" should be completely ignored. Most people using it don't understand what program optimization is. Starfield was targeted at XBX level optimization. If your PC is below console specs, you should not be playing on PC, just buy a console.

Could not agree more... PC world knows, it just does, you're either riding the train or .. you're on a console.

To put it bluntly, “not optimized” is a euphemism for “potato.”
Mooman Jan 23 @ 5:33pm
What? Didn't you hear Todd? It is optimised, from the start... (Note Phil Spencers reaction).

Is optimize better since release but still you’re probably gonna be playing on medium high settings. I have a 7800X3D and 7800XT and suffer at ultra 2k
