Will we ever get a massive (or large) number of new POIs?
I initially dropped 100 dollars, hyped as I was. I ceased playing the game quite a while ago, disappointed and dismayed that my dream did not come true.
And I see that, barring a handful (not even that) of POIs added by modders, no POIs are coming to diversify the universe and surprise us.
Is it done? Can we still hope for tons of POIs and quests with special places? (No FedEx ones in known locations, please).

You may or may not be aware, but the game rewards you with new POIs the longer you play. So initially it seems there aren't very many, but in actuality there are over 200. Personally I wish they didn't do this, because repeated POIs is taxing for a lot of players, including myself. But stumbling across a brand new one every once in a while is cool. But the grind to get that pay off is pretty harsh imo.

Shattered Space did introduce new POIs. And I expect that their next DLC will also introduce more.
Oh, I was not. But if the grind is as daunting as you say... Perhaps a mod alters that, though. Good to know in any case.
I don't have high hopes of seeing a lot of new POIs from their DLC; I think only modders can add enough content.

There are a few mods too. I absolutely love the Spacer base one. They're... more "proper" as small temporary structures, especially for uninhabitable planets, but also work anywhere. I don't know if it's on Nexus, but here's the Creations link:

Sadly the modding scene is pretty much dead. Most modders went back to modding games that aren't dead and empty. Too much spaghetti code to deal with.

Maybe you should try modding if it's so easy and rewarding to make mods for people like you. 😂

I'd love to get into modding for SF but I have a career and a family to take care of. Which sucks because the SF modding scene needs all the help it can get.

Oh this sounds cool and the modder also made extra space encounters.

I also do consider SF has an openworld where you can randomly find POIs. Quests are not mandatory indeed, but when you discover a POI and then realize there is more to it, like it's starting a quest, how thrilling!

Hey Pariah, he's a troll, and not worth conversing with. He just tries to get peoples goat and that's all.

Yep, I was thinking of trying his space encounters mod as well. Also, the POI mod is tied in to Radiant questing, so you can get quests to those POIs as well.
Here are the POI mods I use and they make a big difference imo.

https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/10825

https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/9532

https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/6812

These three just change the way POIs are handled within game. I use them all in conjuction with one another and I think it creates a much better experience. The last one is more of a personal taste thing. I didn't like POIs showing up on planets that otherwise would have no life or wouldn't make sense for human activity. It gives the feeling of landing on a planet that no one has ever been to before for a lot of the moons or planets that are further away from the core of the settled systems. And I believe it helps bring forward part of, what I believe, is the original intent based on the dialog and lore of the game.
I recommend the following mod to stop repeats & add varieties.
POI Variations - No More Duplicates
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/10825

Also there are a bunch of other mods that add more POI to the pool. I'd wager coming updates & DLC might include more too.

Bethesda should have a team to add more POI's that are NOT what is already being used while NOT deleting the ones they have. They need to have more difficulty too! The higher the level, they lower the NPC's to limit XP's given and it's annoying!

No they're not coming OP, because Bethesda expected modders to do all the work for them and they were going to get a small percentage of that money.

Because they really don't care about us.

You can adjust difficulty in this game more than any other game of which I am aware. It's very challenging with everything turned up.
