I don't know but it would be funny to run up on some pirates and sneakily take their ship. Though they could just do the same to you if that was the case lol
Source: I try to steal every ship I can.
That said, I think I did actually steal one once. Unless it was random ecliptics. The difference was that it had *just* landed so I am absolutely sure I murdered every soul onboard or vacating the ship before I tried it. So maybe it's tied to that? I know I've seen some of them wander off after landing before and I have no idea where those went.
If the ship is able to be stolen and you need to kill everyone onboard then the game will tell you this. Most likely there are just certain ships the developers did not want you to be able to steal for balance reasons, or it bugs out. I have ran into enough of this though to assume that the former is probably true.
It seems we need to wait until the modders solve this. :)
You can take it, if the occupants are outside, you just need to kill the ones inside. Also, the ship can leave while you are on it. it is a stupid death when it flies into a fight and the owners are fighting you, instead of the attacking spaceships, so their ship just explodes, with you on board.
But if you are getting the mentioned message it means you already killed everyone, otherwise you get a different message.
But, let's face it: Though the first Claymore you find looks really great, but they're not all that good, and you'll get the likes, later, too. Also, selling captured ships isn't really lucrative, the registration free is hefty.
The Claymore III is one of the best ships Ingame, actually its the best for Category Damage
I dont talk about selfbuild ships cause they are Monsters, i think you can top everything with them. But in findable ships the Claymore is really one of the best. (But you need atleast lvl 62 to find it)
