game completely crashes nvidia driver 537.34 unplayable garbage!!!!
Can't even play the game I over paid for. I've DDU uninstalled all drivers, rolled my driver back to several earlier version. It will start working right just long enough to make me think it's fixed. Make a hour or so of progress then BAM. Lost progress, computer is completely unusable until a hard reboot. It crashes the graphics driver so bad it can't even recover... I feel like bethesda owes every person that pre-ordered a 50% refund at minimum.

I have not had these issues personally, with both the initial game ready driver, and the latest driver. That said, thoroughly troubleshoot using all of the steps here listed under the crashing sections:

If nothing listed there resolves the issue for you, submit a ticket as described at the conclusion of the guide.

Not having that issue. I did start having crashes before the driver and game patch. I think it was my shaders got corrupted. I've cleaned them out and since both the geforce and game patch so far I haven't crashed about 30 hours playtime.

Yup, just had my first BSOD driver irq or less with my RTX4080. Totally waiting for a Starfield certified NVIDIA driver with DLSS support.

You're not alone tons of people have the same issue. It's completely random, sometimes 8 hours go by with no crash the others it crashes minutes after starting the game. I've been scouring to find a fix and tried basically everything. From what I understand this game specifically has issues with Memory Allocation and causes gpu driver crashes randomly. win + R and type %localappdata% then look up the Starfield folder. If its full of GPU Crash files then you have the same issue. People have this issue with all kinds of setups, high and low.

No it doesn't OP I have that driver on my RTX 3070 I can run it for hours just fine
Saying it for days this driver isn't build for steam edition of the game. Trust me read and no ,no normal driver gives you magical frames either. People doesn't understand a well oiled machine can only go so fast. It's a limitation on any hardware regardless what crap software you add to it frames doesn't come out thin air.

I managed to fix my issue. Not sure what finally did it but I'll tell you what I did so you can try it out. First I downloaded this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/2245. Then I set my shader cache size to 100gb in Nvidia control panel. Then I used regedit to add a TDR delay to the graphics drivers and set the value to 8 (hexadecimal). Google it if you don't know how. Finally I set starfield.exe to high priority in task manager. Not sure what did it or if it was a combination of things but I played for 12 hours straight without a single crash. There were a few times I thought it was going to, it acted like it normally does when it would crash, but every time it did the game recovered and I was back to normal. Not sure if it'll work for you but it's worth a shot.
