Help with stealth

So maybe I am playing wrong, but I have 2 ranks in stealth and when i crouch to enter stealth it seems to barely affect of any enemies see me. As soon as I have a direct line of sight on them, even when behind them, they notice me and start firing or turning on the alarm system. I was reading the space suits and helmets affect stealth but how are you supposed to sneak through outposts at all on some worlds that require spaceshits and helmets? Is the play style not viable or am I just playing wrong?

you mean the stealth is real life equivalent? LOL, you dont go front, they have eyes they can see you, go behind and make sure you got no armor equip to reduce sound

Yeah, if you're trying to stealth in a suit it won't really work. At best you can maybe get the drop on one enemy before they're all on you. Take the suit off once you've gone through an airlock and you should be golden.

Starfield stealth is weird. And some places will make stealth impossible.

There is a +25% suit you can get from doing the Neon faction line.
There is also a drug that helps.

Also pro tip go into bindings and bind something to the Run key... no shift is sprit there is a 2nd key for Run. Then hold that key and you will move slower and make less noise. Your default is Always run in game and using the Run key forces you to walk.

Yeah, was going to help but then saw this and... why bother, just block, saves the annoyance.

Movement speed is a HUGE part of it. Hit your capslock to move at a snails pace instead of the fast-walk.

Thanks, didnt realize capslock was a walk button and was wondering why my character would occasionally be a snail. But I will try this and the other tips mentioned above and hopefully get a few suppressed rounds off before they find me

Just to let you know, stealth doesn't work in this game. You can be maxed out in Stealth and Concealment and have the Operator Suit, it doesn't matter. You will be spotted instantly from any distance or any angle, cloaked or uncloaked, lights on or off, followers optional or mandatory, be 10 or 20 levels above them, none of these things matter.

Basically, don't even bother with it. It simply doesn't function in any way, shape or form.
