I just got a free C class ship

I was puttering about on a planet when I saw a ship land nearby. I run over and it's a Crimson Fleet ship. However I joined the crimson fleet so they were friendly. So I go on board and go up to the pilot chair and sit down and fly to the Den and register it.

Now I have this

Meanwhile all the Crimson Fleet pirates are still on board the ship and just milling about.

Damn, how did you do that? Every ship I try to do that with says "inaccessible" on the door.

I've seen some ships like that, but usually when you're exploring a planet and see a ship come down and land you can run over and board it on the ground. Bear in mind if you kill all the hostiles around it it takes off so you gotta just run past and ignore them.
