Not all devs actually use the forums on steam, they just have the 3 standard subs that every game gets.
and like been stated before, use nexus and their forum, thats where the modding is gonna be.
Different versions may require specific versions of dependant mods, or a mod might update and break compatibility with some other mod, or one might affect the same base file in an irreconcilable way, or many other potential issues. Having manual installs of mods or following the instructions of mod makers on which requirements are in place are the best bet.
I currently got "NEFARAM" installed for my Skyrim AE. Damn it's so perverted and sick and hardcore that makes it totally fun.
