During the half km slog back to my ship encumbered in high G, I had been wishing for my vehicle every step of the way... so it was very noticeable that it was missing when I got there
I've had no real issues except when I bought the Rev-8 on Eleos I have crashing if I abandoned it going through the crystal caverns. I used the exact sam save, went to NA, no more issues. Weird one that. If you abandon your Rev-8, you should be able to get it to reappear by FT to your ship, and then exiting.
Except for a few free weapons skins from Bethesda, I'm running unmodified Starfield. (Mostly because I wanted to keep my save available to catch a few achievements.)
As a software engineer, it'd be spectacularly interesting to me to see how those skins elicited this behavior — I won't say it _can't_ happen, I've seen and even caused stranger things to happen, but it'd be quite the indirect and improbable cause and effect!
It would have been interesting to see if the OP's vehicle that seemingly didn't spawn showed up on the surface map (e.g. off map, or buried in the ground)
I agree, highly unlikely, just being… THOROUGH… (As I am wont to do. 😆)
I honestly can’t remember if I fast travelled to the ship and exited again. I want to say yes, at least once, but I’m not entirely certain of that memory.
I do, however, recall multiple times that the vehicle seems to spawn exactly once per landing, and appears on exiting the starship. I’m clear on this because of the number of times I’ve built ships that were almost the maximum length with a front-facing landing bay, and know certain locations that don’t play nice with that (looking at you, Gegarin landing!), combined with the fact that when I’m playing the vehicle spawns with a noticeable delay after I do. I can HEAR it settle down on its shocks. When I get back into and then leave my starship (usually to access a workbench, but sometimes because I realize I forgot to do something in the location I’m at)? I don’t hear that noise a second time. (And, for the record, fast traveling to my vehicle is my go-to solution for getting un-trapped out from under my starship’s landing ramp. Though deciding to ensure that either the fore of my ship is second floor or above and/or there’s a hollow corridor on the first floor between the bay and the front is CLEARLY the superior solution to THAT foible.)
Next time I’m out there and hit a world that triggers this, I’ll be sure to test fast traveling and see if it succeeds in working around this.
Would still be best if it just outright spawned, though!
I’m assuming that if it was buried, the marker would have shown on the ground map. That marker was NOT present on the map. (And therefore also not a fast travel target.)
It’s also frightfully easy to become overencumbered with maxed out Geology skill and a good zap Elemental Pull. 😆 Especially if in the interior of a structure that _can_ be used to house an artifact. (Used to go out of my way for Caelumite … haven’t had to since I discovered this!) Now, if only there had been a similar power to harvest from plants as well as minerals…
I'll, uh, just let myself out.
Shouldn't make it disappear. At my "Fort Dawnguard" outpost, the landing bay is almost blocked by the floor, but the game just places the REV8 on the ground closest to it; Fully accessible.
At my flying outpost, it's.. not so accessible. It's actually glitched into the habs below the ship, but it's still there...
LOL
You have bought one and made it your active vehicle, right? Just because... buying one doesn't seem to auto activate, so i'd double check that.
Also, try repainting it; see if that helps to spawn it.
