Bit like how my character in Fallout 4 can stomp around the Institute in a T-60 BoS power armour without anyone being worried. Although I do think the synth guards do mention it.
I seem to remember that in new vegas and possibly FO3 some faction clothing actually caused NPCS to react in a more meaningful way (Become hostile or friendly)
Dumbing down of Bethesda writing over the years.
The entire design philosophy is not to lock out players due to decisions they've made and for them to be able to experience everything in a single play through no matter how idiotic that may appear.
I read that zealots arent hostile In shattered space if you wear a zealot suit. Might be only in a certain dungeon.
I dont remember any faction disguise mechanics in Fallout 3 (but its been a while)
New vegas was never written by Bethesda.
Reactions to specific gear/apparel do exist in starfield :
-zealot apparel in shattered space
-monster costume dialogue (Ecs constant)
-mantis ship (space encounter dialogue).
