Still a loading screen sim?
Has immersion improved or is leaving planets, traveling to other planets/systems, room to room, etc. still loading screens?

If thats whats stopping you from playing SF then its time to just let go and move on...

As that's never going to change - So just save yourself some time and energy and don't worry about it and just move on... :cozybethesda:

My favorite example is Mars. Loading screen when fyling to Mars, loading screen when landing on Mars, loading screen when exiting your ship, loading screen when entering the buildings on Mars.

So I really don't know why people say that SF is not a loading screen sim. The loading screens are actually what made me stop playing. They're okay for the few afters, but get tiresome real quick imo.

For me loading screens are in no way a problem is this game, I barely notice they are there.

He simply asked if they were still in the game - And the answer is yes they are, nothing has or will ever change in that regard...

If that's a problem for them (and it might be even if its not for you) - Then its best he just forget SF and move on...

No need to argue about it...

Have fun, relax, play a game you like, go outside enjoy the fresh air. But whatever you do let people state their opinions on this forum.

I know. When I use the wagon in Skyrim and travel from Solitude to White Run. Dang loading screen. Then I run up to the gates of White Run and enter. Another loading screen. Then I run up to the Breezehome. Loading screen. I drop off some stuff and exit. Loading screen. Then I run to the store at the end of the road and enter because I have stuff to sell. Loading screen.

ALL THESE DAMN LOADING SCREENS!

You dont have to fly to mars and land if you fast travel. Select cydonia and press travel. You will spawn directly outside your ship and you can then enter cydonia.

Loading screens are everywhere in skyrlm correct. Every city that is not super tiny requires a loading screen to enter and then most merchants are behind a loading screen

Loading screens are constant as nobody is actually going no fast travel 100%. All the cities are in their own cells. If you don't want loading screens play Morrowind. All the rest of Beth's games revolve around fast travel. It's not SF's fault per se, but Beth's for sticking to their old bloated engine.

What you just described is traversing worldspaces. Each worldspace is a separate entity that requires a loading screen. Like entering Windhelm>load>entering Candlehearth Hall>load. No different to that except for the fact that BGS has figured out how to do it MUCH faster than everyone else I can recall of the top of my head. So, for me, who actually knows how to play the game, it's one screen wherever I go (after the first time). For example, I can be in Akila City and go to MAST in New Atlantis, 1 load. BUT, let's just assume it's your first time going to Mars and you do it as you've detail... fly there: 1 second, land there: 2 second, exit ship: 1 second, enter Cydonia: 2 seconds. That's a total of 6 seconds, less than a tenth of the time it takes most games, and about a fifth of the time it takes the better designed ones. If that made you stop playing and go back to 1+ minute loads, you need to reevaluate why. Because it's not the load screen. Also, if you've been there already, see my AC to NA example.

What are you on about? Morrowind still had loading screens, even to enter NPC homes, shops, guild halls, multiple dungeon levels, etc. Cities were exempt only because they weren't texture and object heavy.

It wasn't long ago I attempted to log back in Morrowind and give the gameworld a whirl, only to turn it off quickly. It was just a little too dated for me. I appreciate the game, because I spent lots of time running around in that world. But I'm just a little too spoiled today.

Let me guess. You're one of those that advocate for Epic/Tencent's UE5? A graphics-heavy, mechanics-light engine? There's nothing old or bloated about the engine used for Starfield. If anything, it's kind of amazing with what it does. It finds the right balance between amazing graphics and amazing gameplay mechanics.

Good point

No mans sky is often quoted as a game with "less loading screens" but the loading screens in that game (teleporting to bases or jumping to an other system) are actually constant, they take a lot more time and on top of that they have a bad looking and stuttery animation.

And lets not forget launching the game can easily take a whole minute or more.

Considering that save + reload or jumping to a bunch of systems in a row are the core mechanics for farming anything in No mans sky, that game may have the most amount of loading screen time for me

Thx for all the responses, but this was what I was asking about.

Since I posted my question, I watched a YT vid called "Starfield: More Immersive Landings & Takeoffs - Mod Demonstration" that looked like it was never finished tho. Too bad. Then watched a more recent vid showing takeoff, one of the deck crew suspended under the ship as it lifted off and all the way up through the clouds > cut scene > ship facing the planet LOL!
