There have been tons of bug fixes and a few nice addations/changes to the gameplay...
Personally im going to wait until a few more updates and the Shattered Space expansion are out, then i think it will be in pretty good shape...
I forget. You are playing this on Gamepass?
and even with optimization mods and other things to help.
I still have audio dysync issues, constant long load times because its trying to RENDER everything in the city at once.
so far my experience has been rocky and bumpy. maybe wait a bit? but again ive just got to level 8 and im having a hard time finding the "fun" in this game.
so far its been nothing but load screen, after load screen.
go to planet a, kill guy, return to planet b, tgalk to guy.
guy wants you to go to another plan and basically do the same ♥♥♥♥.
This is what I run and note I run a SQL database which runs all the time doing updates while I am at it.
RTX 3080 Ti
I-9 CPU
32 GB RAM
3 x 2560x1440 144Hz Monitors.
Game doe not need optimization mod... That may be your problem.
Unless you are running the most well optimised system possible, the way Starfield manages data if you have a hard drive, not an SSD, then you *will* get stuttering, but audio and visual, and horrible loading screen times.
(if you're reading that, running it off a hard drive and not getting stuttering issues, congratulations! you're running a well optimised system on decent hardware)
What resolution and what storage? I'm running a Ryzen 3600, 32GB DDR4 + a 2070 Super pushing 1440p with the OS and game on NVME storage. 20fps would be a minimum framerate when it's struggling, which isn't that often, most often approx 60fps or better. At launch I think I was getting 25-45 I think and pretty patchy frametimes?, but game and driver updates have made significant improvements.
I play on a i9-12900K, RTX 3090, game's installed on an nvme SSD, Windows 11
My setting are on Ultra, playing at 2560x1440
I've put 1,900 hours into this game so yes, it's been fun since day 1
and I'm playing on thesame character save I created on 8/31/2024
But yes, as satisfied as I've been with this game since day 1 it's only gotten better with each update. Win Win.
So if you have a decent up to date rig the gane has always ran well. But if you are closer to minimum requirements and don't upkeep your machine then sure you'll see a bigger improvement.
It has changed drastically from launch. Many of the mods for optimizing are no longer needed since the game added the stuff native. Starfield has higher facet counts than most game so you are not comparing apples to apples when compared to other games.
I have a 4070ti, I7 13700K, 32bg DDR4, 1tb M.2 NVWE, B690 motherboard.
Game runs 100fps now most places for the low. I have it capped at 165fps . Almost everything set to Ultimate, 1080P.
Performance can certainly kill your enjoyment with the game....I wound up getting a new rig and getting a consistent frame rate allowed to me really get into the game and i even changed my review from negative to positive.
Lets hope it continue but doesn't end up like NMS and take years.
