Starfield is approaching the top 10 most-modded games on the world's biggest mod site, Even before official mod support.
Disproving the notion that modders had abandoned this game. Nope not by a long shot. This game is already a modding hit & the Official modding tools haven't even come out yet.

Full Story[www.gamesradar.com]

My favorite quote from the Article:
"Outside of mods, Starfield is continuously releasing new updates and shows no signs of slowing down."

(of course off-line players use mods as well)

Yep the game will be very popular for years to come. The best is yet to come so stay tuned.

No doubt the game will continue to receive both mods and further updates/content. Which, as always, is awesome and appreciated.

More importantly to me personally though, I think people forget that games have lives outside of the social gaming zeitgeist. Private lives that live in individual players' isolated experiences and aren't impacted at all by whether anyone thinks a game is "dead" or "thriving."

I miss the days before information and game releases moved so quickly that people decided they needed to assess the fate of things in the rhetorical blink of an eye. Back in the day, it wasn't uncommon to play the same game for years, or to leave it, come back, and pick it up again much later. It seems as though nothing can breathe today. People often seem more invested in the launch party and its fallout (no pun intended) than games themselves.

Personally, I remain content in playing something I enjoy, putting it down, and coming back whenever I feel the need to enjoy it again, with little regard for the game's social prism or lens. Coming back and finding new content is great. But it's okay for things to just be what they are, too. And not every game has to tick every imaginable box for me to enjoy it either.

I mean, you can argue that, but there's a pretty definitive patch history on Steam, so they are offering support.

"Most people" is not a good metric. A modder can't fix an end-user that doesn't update their rig properly.
I mean i have Skyrim fully patched and it crashed constantly before i downloaded and installed some mods that claim to make the game much more stable by fixing various bugs that can lead too crashes without making any other changes too my setup and the crashes stopped. So apparently modders can fix the problem without me making any changes too my setup but Bethesda can't.

That's for your specific situation, and that's great.

Still can't make a claim that Beth has no post-launch support when they already have a long list of patches with viewable history.

Hell, they JUST updated Skyrim again. That's some stellar post-launch support, wish other games companies would patch their games freaking 13 years after release.

Lol calm your britches there. More like 3 years since their latest repackaging of the same game. I could be wrong but i don't think they actually support the version that you could buy for PC back in 2012 anymore.

First let me say yes BGS games have bugs as do just about all video games do. Once social media came into play that narrative was parroted ad nauseam, it became a form of mimicry without true comprehension like many things on the internet these days. Sure video games have bugs and Bethesda was/is no different, but the narrative was repeated so often that true Bethesda fans actually came up with some of the best Bethesda Memes ever made. But to act like they are any different than many developers is an overstatement. Bethesda might not be the best developer out there but they are far from the worst.

See the article in the OP - um news flash - the Creation Kit has not yet been released. Just as Bethesda said it will be in 2024. This is only February.

Do your research. Every single "repackaging" was filled with new content. That's excellent post-launch support. Heck, I got SE for free because I bought OG + DLC.

I was able to find mission adjustments just by using the search engine, too. So there's even some basic ones already.
More like the top 10 biggest flops of all time. Starfield is the most refunded game ever. Imagine paying premium price for this mess. Even indie games do a lot better.

Turn that frown upside down! :praisesun:
I think the first mod I'll try making is fruit trees. I mean oranges are a thing, where are the trees? Lemons, limes, cherries, apples, grapes, peach, plum, even bananas (pears, according to the lore, are an alien imposter), but no trees.

Which btw does not change the topic fact which is that Starfield is approaching the top 10 most-modded games on the world's biggest mod site, Even before official mod support.

Man you really do just randomly say things with no awareness of the actual situation don't you? That's just a 5 second clip that says citation needed. He's basically saying prove that Starfield is the most refunded game ever.

Vlad, it's a meme clip, asking for the person to cite the claim that SF is the most refunded game. :steamhappy:
