*11/17/2023: Game Update 1.8.86.0 is now live

"Additionally, there's support for Starfield's Steam Beta update, which is now available with DLSS 3, DLAA and Nvidia Reflex, ahead of it's official release at a later date. Learn how to opt-in to the beta on Bethesda's blog.[bethesda.net]

To download and install, head to the Drivers tab of GeForce Experience[www.nvidia.com] or https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

Notes:
Although DLSS 3 is for Nvidia 40 series cards there's much in this update that benefits other Nvida cards as well.
1. DLSS 3 is powered by the new fourth-generation Tensor Cores and Optical Flow Accelerator of the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture, which powers GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards.

2. Nvidia reflex is new feature introduced in RTX 3000 series GPU and it reduces system latency in video games and it has helped mostly professional and competitive gamers. Geforce RTX 3000 series :- RTX 3090 ,RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3080, RTX 3070 Ti,
RTX 3070, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3060 .
It works by optimizing the GPU and the game to provide you with the low-latency best performance.

The GPU's that supports Nvidia reflex as of now are

Geforce RTX 3000 series :- RTX 3090 ,RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3080, RTX 3070 Ti,RTX 3070,RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3060 .

I'll definitely check it out tomorrow - just turned the game off for today.

I'm set to check it out tomorrow evening, no real time to play games during the week, unfortunately. :(

The beta is their official support, just separate from the main build of the game to work out bugs. Once they deem it ready for the actual release your version of the game will just transition back to the main build and everything will work like normal

Yes it did but today I saw where several users had no idea it was out.

Yes, the Beta should become official by the end of this month. If you opted-in to the Beta you'll be fine as well.

But why go through steam (even when its official) for DLSS for this game, when many other games have it built in?

This will be in the game by the end of this month when the patch becomes official.

Right now it's only available to you for testing if you opt-in. I'm using it now and happy I did.

I know people were having issues getting framegen to work prior to this driver. This driver appears to resolve those issues as many have reported.
I'm not playing the beta (bc mods mods mods :)) and with a 2080S and I also have almost 10 FPS more in New Atlantis (entrance Lodge), for example. Previously 30-33 now 39-40. 50FPS outside NA (behind Lodge).
For previously so close to the 30FPS limit, I can now be quite satisfied.

They're not "going through steam for DLSS." They're using Steam's ability to make a test build of their game available to the public for testing. Bethesda added DLSS directly to Starfield. Steam has nothing at all to do with DLSS in games

Thanks for the heads up. I won't be upgrading to the new driver however, until after I start playing the release version of the patch. I am still using the Nvidia driver from this last Spring. The game plays great for me as is. But of course I am going to try DLSS and see if it can allow me higher graphic settings and still give good performance.

And Vlad, have you experienced the bug in the beta, where Legendary weapons, can lose their Legendary status and revert back to just a plain weapon? I saw where some players are having that bug in the beta.
