It could be how Starfield registers keystrokes -- could be clearing the keyboard buffer or something between areas in my specific case -- but that's only an educated guess on my part.
It doesn't occur with a controller, interestingly. Could be my hardware - a Sandybridge-E - but I'm sceptical. I can't test it though until I get the motherboard for my new rig (almost three months and counting, supply problems where I live).
Just like to point out that you could be helpful if you tried replicating the problem described.
Yes I know. And yes. I wasn't though - you could try see if you can replicate it.
So it isn't just us. Thank you - I appreciate it. I'm all for laughs. When I think Starfield I keep thinking of "it just works" - emphasis on just (barely).
(though I'm somewhat to blame in my case considering that I'm using a CPU that's twelve years old - stunned that it runs though at 45 - 60 fps).
Now that i've said that, maybe i'll go look at the key bindings and see if you can bind the long press keys to something else, doubt it though.
I experience what you say when I'm trying to lock an enemy ship and instead the character stands up. Very annoying.
