Official mod support for Starfield is coming next year
Presently to make a MOD for starfield something in the game must be altered. In other words, nothing can be added only adjusted. The concern about the game and its following by Micro-thesda is appalling. With all the game faults there is plenty of room for improvement. With apparently no desire to deploy minor fixes and patches you'd think Micro-thesda would have their creation kit ready to do from week one?

Sometime in 2024....joy.

Not true. Glasses have been added by a mod without replacing any existing headwear.

Okay I could be partially wrong, however when I downloaded a few clothing options mod for the mantis suit and for Andrea they overwrote existing outfits. I know this because the modder said exactly what I did about the inability to add only overwrite. He also stated he would likely redo his mods once the creation kit is released.

And plugin mods are mods that no one who's serious about keeping their save should be using at the moment, not until the CK drops.

Downloading mods for re-texturing signs, clothing, graphic or memory allocation, things that hardly alter code shouldn't impact anyone's saves. Had the game been released with a bit more attention and had micro-thesda been a bit more anticipatory for fixing little things immediately there wouldn't be the high demand to spruce up this game.

I have a solid PC, I don't use an M.2 for my games and Starfield runs just fine, no crashes. I credit that to the mods I'm running from day one, but then I cut my modding teeth taking chances modding skyrim so I'm more careful.

Its been a while but I thought the skyrim CK came out within 90 days of the games release. As for why I brought this up, the repetitive nature of Starfields game play, meshes and worlds beg for some creative influence. The modding community made some seriously ass-kicking quest mods for Skyrim that made skyrim much more enjoyable to play. Starfield could use a double does of that creativity and its doesn't appear to be coming from the micro-thesda devs.

XEdit now can sort of handle Starfield, so we're starting to see new things be added.

The CK should have already been released for PC. However, almost everything about Starfield seems to have been a strategy for the XBox console, so I guess we won't get the CK until it's also working for console mods.

Gosh, such an ancient article. My grandma read that article as a child.

Consoles are a curse.
