Bethesda formula for making games is dead
Maybe its jsut me, But Fallout 3 blew my mind on how games could be. New vegas JUst blew fallout 3 out of the water.. then it all went down hill. I love the idea of these games, but they honestly feel so empty and lifeless to me even if there 1000 POI on the map, stories, suck, gamplay is boring and nothing interesting, quests are just really really bad, and not fun at all. Im sure if this was your first bethesda game you would be loving it. BUt these games really suk now. maybe its just me, but i dont think im alone, 33k people playing this game as i speak, thats pathetic PATHETIC numbers..

Step 1 - Realizing a game isn’t for you.

Step 2 - Moving on with your life.
I imagine I would find it very boring too if I didn't own it and hadn't played it either.

you don't own the game you clown, lol
I agree, their glory days are long gone. Their not evolving. They just keep rinsing and repeating and with no effort.
Top seller in September. Sixth best selling game in 2023. Critically acclaimed. Millions of active players.

Doesn't seem so dead to me.

People like the optional Step 2 where they get bitter and live on the forums forever hating the game.

those are not steps, and criticism about poor game design choices is fair.

i think it was fallout 4 another game that had exactly the same type issues starfield has, but unlike starfield, it couldn't hide behind fake positive reviews made by political activists (thanks to the "special pronoun" woke drama, which is actually only there for that reason).

people that have been playing beth games have been slowly learning their development patterns, and have accepted what to expect from them in terms of quality and lies.

look, this is 4 months old, and everything became true. all were lies.

if you care about game develoment, and quality, you should never support something that is clearly broken, or more and worse of the same bad practices will become more common.
bethesda understands that their games rely almost entirely on unpaid help from modders to make their games worth playing.

If you play any bethesda game from Oblivion forward without a mod or two or a dozen, then you are the type of person who thinks adding sprinkles to vanilla ice cream is a "bridge too far" you have my pity, if not my empathy or sympathy.

There are no great bethesda games without mods, this is a sad reality.

What I find irksome is how "cool" bethesda is with letting modders do the "heavy lifting".

Next year and full modding tools cannot come quickly enough for me.

Kind regards to all who share my world views,

For me they were the foundation fathers spiritually and "de facto" of all open worlds estile games, and I hope, they could still doing it during long long time more.

Now fast forward to today, its sitting 46th on the top seller list with a recent 54% score. 30k in game on steam. Those are lol numbers, the game is failing.

which anyone reasonable will agree is a bad practice, and it has became abusive thanks to tolerance and fanaticism: each new game seems to try to push things further in the wrong direction (they are more broken, have more unfinished walls, mediocre textures and or models, common glitches and bugs, etc).

thats not only bad for players, but for devs to, and the industry itself. if something of low quality can live enough to recover investment and make a small earning, why you would care to hire humans if the same level of mediocrity can be easily be produced with ai-workers?

the few social influencers that are ai based, and which are still attractive, are those that are directly managed, moderated and curated with human help. the few ai influences that were left alone lost traction and became obvious they had nothing interesting "life-like" to offer.
I would cheerfully drop a $100.00 for a new Fallout game.

You are out of your depth as the game has already succeeded, turned a decent profit and sales will continue for many years.
