I plan on doing a Linux vs Windows comparison in the near future, but work has kept me pretty busy and I haven't properly configured dual-boot.
Mint 21.2, kernel 6.2.0-36, Ryzen CPU w NV 2070 Super and, currently, NV drivers 545.29.02 beta.
I just run it through the Steam client, no game manager.
There was a period (I think it was driver 535.something?) where it wouldn't run, and at the time neither would Cyberpunk, so I was switched back to Windows for gaming. Recent updates sorted that, and I developed a dislike of Cyberpunk, so I was happily able to jump right back to Linux. That's all an Nvidia issue though, I think Radeon drivers have been 'ok' since the beginning.
Comparison to Windows on the same hardware, maybe 10% additional FPS in Windows on average depending on area.
In order to get DLSS to appear as an option with 1.8.86 I had to add the following to launch options for the game:
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
I hadn't added it before, hadn't needed to go into settings that deep. Don't know if that means I left any performance on the table, but oh well. Working now.
I'll have to experiment more, it seems for me that I have mouse and keyboard issues all the time in linux. For fun I rebooted to Windows and the problem went away. Not sure if this is X, Proton, Steam's controller input or what exactly. I'm also working with Streamdeck (not the console) cause I find it makes for a nice single button press for several things rather than deal with a controller or mouse and keeb.
got nothing to do with the software its most likley the hardware side
