Starfield on a rtx 3060 laptop(120 watts)

Hey everyone. Can i play the game on a rtx 3060 laptop on 1080p on medium-high settings with a decent frame rate (45/60 fps)?

There are no specs available as yet. I have a feeling some of the delay was hardware catch up. I'm thinking 20 series will be the bare realistic minimum. Which would place the 3060 as a decent entry level for low-mid. Just guessing of course, but I'd certainly plan on upgrading soon. I replaced my 2080ti machine for a 4090 rig specifically for Starfield.

My main platform is ps5 so I wont upgrade my laptop soon. Since i only bought it a few months ago

You should be fine no problem. It's the same engine as.. well forever, but more to the point as Fallout 4, just a bit 'prettified'. I'm convinced you'll be able to run it just fine @1080p maxed or near maxed (unless Beth forgot or stopped caring about making games that work decently).

I'm pretty sure an 3060 will be plenty for 1080p. Unless you're doing RT/4k/etc, it'll be lots.

(heck, do we even think this game will have RT?)

No 4k or rtx. I generally play demanding games on my ps5 but you know starfield wont be on ps5 so i’m stuck with my laptop

Turn off shadows and I think you can do even better.

You might have a problem with the vram 6gb is not alot in new heavy games.

I know but like i said i play demanding games on ps5. But starfield wont come to ps5 so laptop is my only option. Medium to high is sufficant for me at 45/50/60 fps.

I dont think you will get medium to high on that rig. I have a 2070 mobile and that performs similar to your 3060 mobile only I have 8 gb vram. I can play HL on medium settings but I get dips to 30-40 fps on demanding areas and 50-60 on lower demanding. But you are talking about high settings and the higher you go the more vram is used. So don't be surprised if you are forced to low settings.
