Is there a max bounty?

I've joined all the factions, then I did a mission to kill a Crimson Fleet leader which got me a 15K bounty from them. The mission only paid a few thousand credits.

Is there a max bounty from factions, or will that number just keep going up? Has anyone tested this?

It doesn't make sense to do quests that end up costing you many times what you earned.

Have they set this up so you're forced to pick a side for each playthrough or go broke constantly clearing your bounty?

I mean it makes sense given that the Fleet and UC are basically at war with each other.

Previous Bethesda games had no hard limit, so I don't see this one having one either.

As is the usual, joining and doing missions for one faction will usually piss off another, or possibly multiple. I can imagine being a pirate isn't going to make you many friends in the Settled Systems.

Do missions to kill spacers or ecliptic. No one cares about them.

You're correct. It certainly doesn't make sense to do a quest w/ one faction against another faction you are also aligned with. It's all about choices, the beauty of BSG games.

I don't know the upper limit but I had close to 200k with both UC & Rangers after just one 'incident' where it seemed like every ship in freestar space attacked me. I paid it off ... so if you have money, you can commit mass murder and no one really cares. I have since discovered that sometimes the auto targeting gets confused and picks an ally, and a single shot is all it takes to start a war with the friendlies, and hailing doesn't work (its supposed to stop the battle).

I like to know too... Bounty Crimson fleet going throuhg the roof over here → over 5.000.000 and rising,

Yet crimson fleet is still on friendly terms with my character 0_o ???
No hostilities between us wotsoever when we meet aagain !?

land on the key with that bounty and call me back. For me at least, that put me in a fight with about 150 unkillable npcs.

I had a Crimson Fleet bounty at over a million. I paid it so I could infiltrate them and take the Crimson Fleet down...

I don't think there's a limit to it, or at least it's pretty damn high. My first playthrough had millions of bounty with United Colonies and Freestar, never paid it off because it was more than my money lol. I might have to try being an even bigger menace this time. Test the limits.

I've had it in the millions before. But there is no consequence. Just turn yourself in and it is gone. You get negative XP that you must re-gain before you start getting positive XP, but if you have an outpost where you can farm XP at, it is not an issue.

That's just it.. after i infiltrated the Red Team and shaked hands, it seems almost diz duck can't do anything wrong ... iam like their deity they worship .. ^_^ .. Nice litle bug.. must say..

Even when i wack em in dungeons, they don't even dare to take action against this Godlike DUCK 0^0 ..
