bro what is this game design
- bullet sponge enemies ( why do game devs think this is a good thing? )
- coloured tired loot system ( weapons, space suits, here's the same weapon but it says EPIC or whatever )
- grenade spam
- horrible UI ( oh run out of med packs? no worries you got food and drink, keep scrolling brother, that's half the fun )
- menu fast travel. Like whats the point of flying your space ship? Who cares at this point.

Bethesda what has happened to you? These are 3 L's in a row now. I'm not saying Starfield is the worst game ever, but it is very average and dated experience. When you start criticising design choices instead of enjoying and immersing yourself into the game, you know you done F up.

There is a lot more I could rant about like the narrative side, world etc but I won't.

The alternatives are significantly more costly to implement. The player can also chose to lower the difficulty if they feel it's too much.

What exactly is it that you are suggesting is a better design?

What does running out of med packs have to do with the UI?

The number if Aid items you have to scroll through is directly proportional to what the player picks up. If you don't want to scroll then don't pick it up or just put what you want to scroll through on your favorites bar.

To discover locations for the first time and to engage in space combat.

I agree with the 'bullet sponge' issue on higher difficulties, but there are pretty easy to implement mods to fix this issue.

- "fix bullet sponge" - mods like this have an easy to tweak file to modify to your tastes. I have the feeling the mouth breathers can't figure out how to do this though.

It's almost like there mechanics biuld into the game to deal with such things playing on very hard & there's not many things that last more than just a couple shots with my guns hell my shotgun kills legendary with 3 shots and none of my weapons are special there all default with just mods rank up some of your perks.

A better question is to ask: what happend to you.

Starfield improves on their previous games in a number of ways. Not all of them. There's some obvious flaws like the UI, but its still a great game despite of these flaws.

Lower the difficulty or get better weapons or skills. The game is an RPG after all.

Who cares.

Dont use grenades, then. Actually, where are you even finding enough grenades to spam them? You dont find them that often, so you'd have to buy them in shops.

Yeah its horrible, but its also the worst thing in this game.

Yes, who cares. Why do you complain about these things when its Starfield and not other games? Why are you willing to ignore the flaws of the Bethesda games you love, but not this one?

What has happened to you?

Whats wild is the amount of work modders have done to rectify that past games. Repeatedly. Iteration after iteration of each game.

They get great reception. Including sub communities that mod around these overhauls. You'd think Bethesda would take notes on that being so mod-centric.

Yet here we are again...

Somebody just played their first BGS game sounds like
justfaded Sep 9, 2023 @ 7:51am
Exactly it's not a bad game at all. But it's just very average and completely devoid of ambition and innovation.

Because they do the minimum and let the free labor modders fix their crap. I mean the UI is probably the worst I've seen in a BGS game so far. Like holy hell it's so big they can't even fit the persons inventory you are trading with in the menu lol.
It's like the person that made the UI is brand new to making UI. Thankfully a modder fixed the entire inventory in a day lol. That's how horrible BGS devs are. Someone that doesn't even get paid to do it fixed it in a day.

They didnt make a Design Document for this game lmao

I feel that the more the game progresses the less spongey they become because you get a variety of powerful and upgraded weapons (add-ons and etc). I mean, I'm lvl 31 and I can take on enemies which are lvl 45-50 no problem. I feel the mid-late game combat is A LOT better than early game combat. I didn't like it at first, but now I'ma actually loving it. That coupled with the powers make for a really dynamic combat gameplay. Maybe they are still a bit spongey sometimes but the number of ways and weapons with each you can approach the situation makes it feel way more natural than in the first +-10 hours of the game.

I also have the feeling that high lvl enemies have way better AI. They hide and move much "smarter".
