Starfield is not Space Skyrim.
It's Space Fallout 4. That doesn't make it bad. But it definitely has more of a Fallout 4 feel.

Falllout 4 had the Fallout universe setting and atmosphere to fall back on, and nostalgia for some of us. Its issues weren't so different as SF's: terrible performance, meh main story line and the weight of buggy and poorly optimised engine Bethesda still insists on using. However the world felt more cohesive, and open world than Starfield. Also its open world was packed with interesting encounters and locations, Startfield's...not so much. In that regard Starfield planets remind me more of Daggerfall open spaces, outside the points of interest.

Starfield has a fairly generic sci-fi universe, with few common sci-fi tropes used as the main story line. It's not a bad game, but it is a meh from me so far. Mass Effect Andromeda comes to mind, but at least there I enjoyed the combat and some story lines.

In my review, i used "Fallout 5 in space". But to reiterate, in my mind, Fallout 4 was great, and Starfield improves a lot on combat and storytelling, so it is a net improvement for me.

It's exactly like Skyrim:you are a Dragonborn who collects the shiny dragon soul and takes it to the temple to collect the word of power. Reused mechanic, does not feel original.

Yes it reminds me of Fallout 4 a lot. One of my favorite games. The Combat is much better though like you say. And it looks better. Has tons of stories to. There are quests everywhere.

Not the experience of people who actually own Starfield...Unlike yourself.
Benchmarks results and publicly available metric ton of gameplay footage exist. We all have eyes, brains and personal expectations. You just arrived at different opinions, cupcake.

It starts feeling like Skyrim once you start getting those powers.

I tend to believe my own experience over haters on Steam.Just the way I am...lol. Your I don't own the game and have never played it opinion has little value. Videos exist for almost any opinion. My opinion is the only one that I care about. Your loss.

Try appreciating and enjoying what you got, what the game wants to do, and the little things. Dive in an role play. Stop worrying about what SF doesn't entail, so you can enjoy all the good that it does have.

Not sure if you're replying to the original post, but I am enjoying it. I enjoyed both FO4 and Skyrim. Just got a massive FO4 vibe going through the first part of the game.

I get total Fallout 4 and Cyberpunk 2077 vibes playing Starfield
I have been somewhat tongue-in-cheek but also unironically looking at it more as Morrowind in space. It feels tonally and in terms of art design somehow very Morrowind-like to me. Vvardenfell was "alien" enough relative to the other provinces that this game's planets feel reminiscent of it to me. The flying enemies on New Atlantis look a bit like Cliff Racers in a way.

But above all, I feel much more like I did in Morrowind in this game than I have in other subsequent Bethesda games, in terms of being able to just go off and do whatever while ignoring the main quest. I know you can technically do that in every Bethesda game, but the main quest introduction is so fast and brief here, and you can just ignore it so soon, that it really feels a lot like Morrowind where I could just ignore Caius from the start and do anything I want.

Obviously base building is more of a FO4 thing, but I don't know. Somehow it feels like Morrowind to me. Space Morrowind? Morrowspace? Starrowind!

I got this vibe too. I was thinking about Morrowind when I started the main quest. Just like waking up on a boat and being thrown into the story. But just as quickly I can ♥♥♥♥ off and do my own thing.

:cybereye: Yeah. I crapped my pants and was afraid to leave the ship. But it turns out they aren't as op as in Morrowind.
