Starfield Won't Start with NVidia 1660 Ti. EDIT: PROBLEM FIXED !
Starfield Won't Start on my PC! Have NVidia 1660 Ti card but error message reads: "Graphics card does not meet minimum specifications." A friend is already playing with the NVidia 1660, a lesser card than my 1660 Ti. And there are several Youtube videos showing Starfield being played using the 1660 Ti. Anybody else having a video card problem game not starting? Have created a ticket with Bethesda but after two rounds, they have been less than impressive. They say that my card does not meet minimum specs.

I have tried but been unable to locate from Bethesda Software a list of supported cards for the game.

Below spec, too slow.

Then why are there videos on Youtube of people playing Starfield with the same card as I have? Also the 1660 Ti outperforms the 1070 Ti, which is the Bethesda stated minimum spec card.

Weirdos who enjoy mental abuse.

1660TI has less VRAM. I tweaked the ini and got it running on my laptop. Not sharing, don't ask. Look at downgrader mods on Nexus. You still won't get great performance. Honestly, I'd rather just buy an XBX is I could afford to upgrade. My main machine can easily handle it though.

The is other people with this problem on higher spec pc's:

maybe push windows update.

I have it running great/looking great on my 1070 with a mix of medium high and ultra settings and a texture downscaler mod.

I went with the 512 pack. Textures bigger then 1024 are kind of a meme anyways.

Not sure if it will fix your not being able to start problem though.

definity runs on a 1660. Do you have 16GB ram?

I Have 32 GB RAM.

also read this: Fixed it. It was using integrated graphics. Should've figured that one out sooner. Anyways all good now but I did have too reinstall the driver

wish you luck.

I fixed the problem. I had to use the MANUAL REINSTALLATION of the video card driver from the NVidia website. MANUAL INSTALLATION WITH CLEAN INSTALL. I had done this previously but apparently the automated update didn't take.

Can you suggest on how to get it running on an old gen 4 i5? I'm actually going crazy trying to get the game to downgrade as much as possible to lower the CPU load, while still having these seemingly 4k road textures showing up. The performance is so bad I get full 5 second freezes like every 30 seconds, and the audio constantly cutting out.

Insanity I can make everything other than the ground look worse than Skyrim and still have the game run 100x worse. I have slammed my desk more thana few times trying to resolve this.

Edit: Your mod link might explicitly fix that and I'm just seeing red too much and missed it lol

Yeah, a game with fairly small maps optomized for extremely low spec computers as an "esports ready" title is being compared to one with massive amounts of procedurally generated non-static content, ranging from character facemorphs, large numbers of physics objects, massive open worlds, and many, many other things, while also focused on a degree of graphical fidelity to all of that at once.
