Has anyone figured out how to move ship parts between ships?
can it be done? I keep finding ship parts on ships I capture that aren't sold anywhere.

You talking about the repair parts or actual ship parts that you use in the modify ship section? Please elaborate.

I assume it is possible, but could be wrong. I know when you upgrade turrets it prompts you saying the previous turret was sent to your ship cargo. I do find it annoying how you need to buy a prefab ship to make a nice large one though.

Ship parts (for in-battle and post-battle repair) are transferred from your old ship to your new ship when you make it your home ship. All inventory (including clutter) is transferred over. I'm not sure how this bodes when moving from a full cargo hold to a ship with a smaller hold as I have not yet done this.

OP is asking 'if i find a cool rare engine on a ship, can i put it on my main ship?'

I'd like an answer too.
The test is to get a second ship, and rip off an engine [or something] in a place that does not sell that engine, and see if it becomes available for the other ship.

You can't do this for ships or for item mods (like weapons/spacesuits etc).

No. Vendors sell specific items. Deimos has a yard in Mars with all the goodies you could want for their ships. You do not scavenge ship parts afaik.

Yeah. Dismantling and moving ship parts between different ship slots in the same ship builder session sadly isn't in the cards here. A shame, really.

What we need is a blue print save system. One where you can simply make something and store it to dupe on other ships.

If you switch to a ship with a less cargo space it will become overfilled and you cant store anything else. you can still remove stuff though.

wish you could transfer and store selected cargo on certain ships and just keep it that way. im missing out on a lot of salvage opportunities in the mantis. my cargo ship can but its not built for combat. would be nice to be able to offload and store permanently. like with a "transfer between ships" ability

Actually, you don't: Replace the Frontier's reactor with a Class C one, and off you go.

when you capture one ship and there are part you want (also if the seller does not have that specific part), delete that part (or even erase the entire ship piece by piece, it doesn't matter), these become available from the vendor, so go to ship 2 where you want to add them and you find them in the vendor list

I'm afraid I just tried exactly this and it doeesn't work. I took off and deleted some landing gear, exited the ship, swapped to the one I wanted the gear on and tried to buy back the landing gear and it wasn't on his list, either as a buyback or as a normal purchase.

Not possible. The game wants you to pay full price if you add new parts, and you get 12.5% of full price if you return the parts - that happens when you delete them after taking them away from the ship, and you must delete these 'remaining' parts before the build session ends (or you cannot go ahead, you get error messages).
So, you may own 10 different ships, you can only modify 1 of them at a time and you need to buy the parts you don't have for it.

You can't transfer ship modules
