Are There Any Empty Planets?
No, not a joke. I'll explain.

I'm trying to find a planet (moon really) where I can build myself an outpost. I would like it to be actually barren. For immersion purposes only. The problem is, EVERYWHERE I land has some random factory right next to it.... Why!??? A random "Barren" moon in the middle of nowhere, well outside of the settled systems has 3 factories, everywhere I land on the moon.

I even had one of the (spoiler-free) "Important Special Story Items" right next to a factory. I was like.... "It was here the whole time!? For 200 plus years NOBODY looked out the window and saw this giant (spoiler-free)!!!???)

Just my thoughts. I'd really like to find an actually untouched Planet or Moon.

Based on my experience, planets/moons get more empty as you increase the distance from the settled systems.

I was watching a youtuber and he landed on a planet to show us exploration and there weren't any points of interest where he landed. So apparently it's possible to land somethere with no points of interest. And on a related note, maybe you should exclude natural geological feature points of interest and caves from this.

I'll keep looking. I feel as though I've gone really far. I mean, really far. I haven't hit the edge yet but I'm nearly there and still getting tons of factories, random buildings and farms everywhere lol. I just wanna feel like I was the first to explore something for once.

There is lvl 70-75 star systems on the most edge of the map, but to get there grav engine with 30+ LY is needed and of course to be ready for whatever lives on these 70+ planets

Its procedural generation at work. You will not find any barren landing areas, since those areas are not subject to any sort of permanence. Theyre randomly generated ANEW based on the planet seed every time you land anywhere on any planet or moon.

And the seed says there will be factories and other sh1t. No matter where you go.

Well, I admit I only tested this briefly by going to a distant system.

I tried 4-5 landing spots on a "semi-distant" planet - and they were all very empty, except for some caves and "natural" formations.

The game does seem implausibly full of buildings when it comes to planets, definitely.

It's like they were really scared of actually giving you that realistic experience of nothingness.

Strange, as I think Todd Howard specifically pointed out that they wanted to give players that feeling of desolation.

I don't mind caves and natural stuff. I just hate seeing giant ugly metal structures all around me when I'm searching for just one "unexplored" place is all.

There's none of that in Starfield. Its a fast travel/loading screen simulator. There is no desolation. You cant even get stranded in space. You dont travel anywhere, just load another transition to where you want to go.

It utterly fails in being a space game. And it really isnt a space game, its a 1st person action-rpg.
