Can be, there is so much side content and other stuff to do. Just like other bethesda games, the main story is only one part of the game.

Im 40 hours in and am at part 2 of the main quest, i must be so bored with this game!

There's apparently a video of someone going through their first time in eight hours, it can and will be done quicker. In comparison, according to howlongtobeat, Skyrim can be beat in under half hour, Baldur's Gate 3 in 5 minutes.

I never even touched the main mission yet. The side content has all been really fun and from what I can see there is tons of it. All well crafted and good side content that immerses you into the space theme. Huge futuristic cities. I'd argue they are some of the best side missions I ever played in a video game.

Yeah another 10 "Howlongtobeat" hours would be same level as FNV and FO4 for main.

17 hours is more like the speed run. 30-40 if you focus mainly on the main quest according to most reviews. 50-60 for main + important side quests. much much more for compeltionists.
