Does anyone know that if landing in zone 1 then zone 2, that zone will remember zone 1?
with other words.. landing in zone 1 = zone 1 is now static, so the question is when you make zone 2 is it aware of zone 1 ? as if, i build a base next to the "invisible wall" and then go to zone 2 that was next to zone 1. and go to the oposite side of that wall from zone 1. will i see my base from there??

in one way,,, if not. i dont mind, planet is big, the zones can be close on the starmap yet when you land, you mig land 100 miles from ecother..
SO I DONT COMPLAIN . i just want to know if anyone knows :)
cause would be cool to see youre first base from where you build youre second one, incase you dont build both in the same zone.. wich would be kinda stupid since every zone ends after a 9 min walk.

I don't think we know yet.

Know? I don't, but I think if you start to build a base or something, it'll lock it in.

yea exactly my thought... it feels like if you land on a "point of interest" already showing as a landing place on the planet map.. its always static..
but the rest is an illusion.. you can click anywhere on the planet and even same place twice and it will always be Random generation unless you build a base to lock it in.
That's the part of the procgen I'm not certain of yet and don't feel has been definitively clarified, so I would be hesitant to offer any sort of conclusive answer right now. What we know for sure is that the procgen (including of POI's) differs from game to game. What we don't know yet for sure is exactly what you're asking: whether in your game at least, they remain persistent permanently or not when returning to a given tile.

As mentioned above, I would suspect outpost building or anything else that requires persistence to function, would become a permanent fixture in the game. But that's just a reasonable educated guess at this point. If anyone has any more definitive info on this, it's actually one of the things I'm very curious about. I'm fine with it either way but would love to know.

There is a limit to the number of random zones on planets, since each time you visit a new one it has to be saved to disk, I forget what someone said the limit was but once you reach it the oldest zone visited will be deleted along with all the visited POI's, outposts I believe override this mechanic but you're also limited on the amount of outposts you can have in game, this is tied to a skill with higher skill letting you have more outposts, the maximum allowed is somewhere around 24.

You cannot see any objects in other zones, so if you're right next to a city zone you will not see anything, I'm not exactly sure whether the terrain is matched or not between adjacent zones, I suspect not unless the terrain of the planet uses a fixed seed.

I suspect mods will allow an increase to these limits at a cost to disk space of course, so while it's a little disappointing perhaps that things are not completely persistent it's an understandable limitation of having such a huge universe to explore.

weird cause it seems like you can click 1cm away from the other zone, over and over... so i agree having like 200 different looking places would be kinda hard to do maybe.
i did not know however that you where limited to how many bases you could make, i dont mind the limitation either cause its well above 20 so im fine with that lol.
and as the other guy aikido wrote. either way im still going to love the game. but would be very interesting to know..

Maybe you can choice 50 different places on a planet,, but the planet can only generate a sertain mount of maps...
otherwhise every cm to the right would be a new place. just round the equator would be well over 30 different maps..
