Starfield costs a lot of money? No its free with AMD

AMD will bundle Starfield next week for free with ryzen 7 cpu or radeon 6000 or 7000 gpu.

I laugh at all the people who preordered the game. Free game with an upgrade for your computer...

Right, spend a thousand dollars or so to get a 100 dollar game..... Since I do not require an upgrade to run the game, that doesn't seem like the most fiscally responsible course of action.

I got it for free anyway. Steam Gift cards are great. And still get to keep my Nvidia GPU and Intel CPU. :)

CPUs are far from inferior, GPUs are catching up and I hope they do because nvidia need the competition to bring prices down more at the high end.

It's not free, but it's help with people who need new gaming pc that not already had it, otherwise better off pre order.

What's there to laugh at?

First of all, preorders are refundable at this point in time, even for those who didn't order on steam.

Second, not everyone is looking to upgrade at this point in time for various reasons such as not having the money to do so or they have just upgraded.

For those who do not have the money to buy starfield, why would they spend hundreds or thousand of dollars just to get that game?

For thsoe who have already upgraded (to amd 7xxx cpu/intel 13th gen/7xxxx amd gpu/Nvidia 4xxx gpu), why would they go through the trouble and cost to buy another CPU or GPU just to get the game for "free"? Even more so for those who have already bought the latest stuff from AMD before the promotion?

Not to mention 9-10 they may need to upgrade the case, the GPU, PSU, mobo, and ram to make the most out of what CPU they bought.

My Pentium 4 and ATI Radeon X800(with a beautiful red head lady sticker on the card) can probably run Starfield quite well. I don't need new card just so i can play Starfield.
