Essentially Microsoft plans to use their massive spending power to overwhelm Sony and run them out of the North American market, which is highly illegal and why the FTC has temporarily blocked the Activision acquisition.
So yeah, take the Op with a "grain of salt" because it's patently false information that's been disproven by internal documents that belonged to Microsoft in the first place.
FWIW, I'd take the stories about Starfield as a potential PS exclusive with a grain of salt. BGS and Sony have historically never been on great terms to begin with going by the numerous issues with PS and BGS games.
That, and likely to access IP/Patents. If you are going to use IP/Patents and don't like licenses, it can make sense to outright buy the company you are interested in if you can.
Example?
Facebook and Oculus. Facebook could have bought Zenimax et. al. and had access to the IP/Patents and used Zenimax to build their metaverse.
It's unfortunate Facebook isn't as forward-thinking as they believe themselves
Leave Mark Zuckerberg alone, the lizard people haven't upgraded his processor in like 7 years. It's not his fault he didn't think this through.

I don't think figures of speech are highly illegal. What's unfolding is your typical big-government takeover of an industry ... in this case gaming. It has been discovered that tyranny is best begun in the nursery.
As the nation slowly rotates away from (totally government controlled) television to other forms of entertainment, you'll see more of this.
Actually conspiring to create an illegal monopoly is illegal in the US. Today you learned a new thing, enjoy that.
Edit: I see you've added a weird "Government conspiracy theory" to your post so I'm just going to disengage with the crazy.
Which is actually one of the reasons Congress is investigating Sony and their anti-competitive practices. Particularly in how they are interfering with trade agreements with Japan in digital marketplaces and undermining those existing trade agreements.

Thank you MS Post :)
Good. ♥♥♥♥ corporations.
So is detonating a nuclear device. But the only place either of those is happening is someone's imagination. What accusations of monopoly do is provide an excuse for government to take over and start dictating how business is going to run, which is the last thing anyone should ever want.
yeah, at least another dude aware of what I wrote in first post. microsoft really spent loads of cash for zenimax/bethesda and they would not have done it, when they didnt know, what to get for that money. I think, its good for us. but who knows?
