What’s funny is I don’t think it’ll be a flop based on my experience with Bethesda games. Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyout, Fallrim 3 and 4. Played them all since the day they each launched and while they weren’t always perfect, they weren’t so big riddled that I couldn’t play and enjoy them.
The gameplay videos looks really good, especially for a game built around an early 2000s game system
Also the PS5 version of BG3 releases on Sept 6th so the sony boys will have something to play when starfield releases at least.
From my experience in early access and how good the game is and the extra content ( huge amount ) being added for the final release, I will predict it will exceed the hype.
It's a different type game of course than Starfield will be. So it's going to appeal to a different crowd. I am looking forward to playing them both with excitement. The news it is going to release now almost a month earlier than planned, is great news. Means I can start playing it on July 31. As a early access owner of the game.
It's a different type of game than Baldur's Gate. It's Divinity Original Sin 3. That's going to alienate a huge chunk of people. From what I've read it also hardcore sticks its hands down your pants by level 2 in a way that's going to really irritate the kind of folks that no longer drink Bud Light.
But I guess we'll see.
