Aren't most games 59.99 dollar for the standard edition, why is this game 70?

Lots of newly released games are doing this. Guess inflation hit the gaming community :(

It’s the price that AAA games cost and has been since the PS5’s release.
Hobba Jun 11, 2023 @ 7:25pm
lol, well I'm not buying them for that price, I can wait and play games like zelda that weren't price gouging, and then when this is in the bargain bin, ill pick it up for $10 instead of a reasonable price at launch...

I guess I'll wait for a price drop lol

Sorry to tell you, Zelda is also that same price and the game sucks on top of that :)

Literally every other AAA games that came out this year were priced 60 bucks,

Jedi Survivor, Dead Island 2, Redfall (cough), Mortal Kombat, Call of Duty, Forspoken, Final Fantasy 7 & 16, Madden 24, F1 23, Diablo 4, Legend of Zelda. . . there's quite a few $70 games that have come out the last few months or will be coming out this year.

tl;dr - there's been a bunch of $70 games already, and more coming.

Get used to it I am afraid, this is the new standard price for new major games going forward, every new game going forward on pretty much every major platform increased there new AAA game prices by $10.00. Yes it does suck for us.

You might be better off subscribing to Game Pass and play the Microsoft Store version if you want to not pay the full price of the game, for the loss of modding the game.

pretty much all new mainstream games are this much

I have never play any of this developer games, I only see people talking about how buggy some of their past games were. I don't mind paying for it on release date if the reviews are good.
As you can see by this being part of the top sellers people gave in because they must play the game. $70 is the new standard for AAA games as people clearly purchase them.

$70 is unfortunately the new standard, just wait for a sale and it will probably be at like $60, wait a few years and it will probably be like $20 on sale.

It’ll be $50 with a Steam key starting next week.

No, and we've known this for a while now, new AAA games are $70.

Or more like greed and laziness.

The cost of making games going up is a total myth. Spending way too much money on art teams and licenses these days. There's an endless supply of programmers out there who will take the job for less as well.

Tell that to fallout 4 which is still 30 bucks on sale.

I remember when Daggerfall (yes DAGGERFALL) was first released, they sold it for $70... in the 90s.
