It's a Bethesda game, so obviously you will be the "chosen one." I already hate the idea that you have to start as a space miner... Regardless of what background you choose. Well, that's what alternate start mods are for. One where you never find the relic, never join Constellation, and just go do your own thing.
I don't think you have to join Constellation, I think that is more main quest stuff. You should be able to ignore them if you want. It's at least a good thing the miner portion is just a job and doesn't seem to be tied to your overall character backstory. Though you will still have the relic for now.
I'm sure it's like other people have suggested. The story will revolve around finding those relics, and gradually they will give you new abilities.
So yes, I am welcome, but I'm worried about gameplay and balanced all that, I don't want power feel weak, like skyrim magic high level magic is so weak, while sword/bow is more powerful than magic, that is not right. Or something like that.
