Why is there no Russian localization?

Why is there no Russian language? The most playing audience is screened out, in addition to Russia, all CIS countries play with Russian localization.

OP, this is probably one of the things that will be addressed in the upcoming showcase I would imagine. The reason behind this is that the team working on the localization is Russian and currently there is no way for that work to continue. It's far too close to release to start hiring other teams for language versions. It has nothing to do with anything other than the embargo on Russian product. I am sure that, once the situation is resolved, we will see the team's (they WERE already working on it) work come to the surface in a future patch. I, for one, applaud Bethesda's use of localized resources, especially talent, for their localizations. I would not want to see their investment in those people tossed by the wayside and other amenable parties from other localizations used instead, would you?

Yeah. Add russian subtitles at least. There are 200 million people around the world who speak Russian, including the US and Ukraine. For Zelensky, this is the main language lmao.

Hilariously I've had people block me because I said don't blame all Russian-speakers. Hilarious because I'm of Ukrainian descent, even if I don't personally know the parts of our family still living there.

If removing Russian language support is about the war and attempted cultural genocide Russia is guilty of, it's misguided since Russian-speaking Ukrainians are victims too and not all Russian speakers out of Ukraine support the terrorist city-razing war.

Sure, not 100 % of them are cheering for putin but the vast majority either are or "don't care because it's not their war" instead of actively being against the war.

Also, it'd would feel weird if russias citizens could just go on with their lives with no consequences whatsoever (and not having a game in their language or not getting a starbucks coffee or the newest iphone, ironically products from a country they supposedly hate so much lol, is nothing compared to how lives of Ukrainians are affected everyday).

A significant chunk of Ukraine speaks Russian, and they did not all fall in line and welcome the invasion. They should be punished? Yeah I know they probably have a lot more to worry about than getting Starfield, but the point still stands.

There can be a huge back and forth but it all comes down to one thing:
Russia invaded in a war of empire expansion.

There is no debate there. It's fact, and it would be irrelevant if every country bordering Russia outright joined NATO because NATO did not attack. Ukraine did not attack. Russia did, and no one else did before Russia did. End of story. Done.

I have nothing against Russian people, but unfortunately Putin will go down in history alongside many other monstrous men.
