What happens if you finish a palace early?
Say if i have 13 days left and i finish the palace on the day, will the game skip the days and progress the story or will have the remaining 13 days to do whatever i want till the story progress? i've always start the palace, do some confidences, leveling, upgrading equipment, then finish the palace on like, 2-3 days left.

if you finish early you can spent the remaining days leveling up social links, stats etc.

Nope, game doesn't skip days. You just get to do your own thing for the remaining days without having to worry about the palace.

As many times as I've played Persona 5 Royal ... I usually suggest clearing out the palace as soon as you possibly can. This gives you plenty of time to deal with social links, leveling up in Mementos, and activities to raise your social stats. As others have said: you get the remaining time to do as you want/need. :P5R_Hero:

They have this game logic: If you it on first then you have to wait until the owner of the palace confess - it's 20 days. If you do it on day 20 you they recover the next day.

Anyway do it quick. Check what other things you could do that day and if you don't care about the options go in adn do it in within two days. (card sending included)

The game rewards spending as few days as possible in palaces and Mementos.

If you are playing smart you should be taking 3-4 targets in each mementos trip (the XP is needed for bosses and palaces) and 2, 3 days tops on palaces.

You can load up 6+ requests if you do it well enough. One day to secure route to the treasure. (sometimes more, as they kick you out to find an unlock in the real world)

As for doing it early: usually early is better. But you want to go into the palace when you dont have any high priority Confidant or stats up or event on that day. Also next day if you are sending calling card+taking treasure as that takes up 2 days.

Theres no reason to do it literally as fast as possible if that means going on a day where you could have leveled a good confidant instead.

That said, once you secure the treasure route you want to send the calling card as soon as possible as the team members wont be available for Confidant ranks between then and taking the treasure.

I personally dislike that all of the palaces have roadblocks in them that require spending more than one day in them.
All of them have the treasure that requires the calling card (taking away another day) and a roadblock before that that requires an event outside the palace that is taking up even more time.
Sure they tell you the "final possible day" but they do not really tell you how much time total the palace will need to complete.

But they don't. In fact, off the top of my head only two have them have that. The very first palace doesn't, for example (unless you count the railroaded 'gathering team members for the tutorial' trips). Or are you just counting the introduction to the palace as well, before you get your timer and actually start the operation?

Anyway OP, as already mentioned there is no penalty to doing palaces early. Off the top of my head there was only one time in Persona 3-5 that you were ever punished for doing a dungeon early, which is a lategame dungeon in 4. Otherwise, you can do them whenever is convenient.

Every dungeon has a roadblock? You mean Madarame and Sae ?

Even a Calling Card is a roadblock. For Sae they wanted you to refill before the arena fight part the pallace. Visiting her in court offers nothing to the story.

The same is true of the calling cards. Given every dungeon has a safe room immediately before the treasure room, it's basically just there so you get a chance to restock before fighting the boss.

I assume they did that so people would be forced to go into boss fights full rested. Its something you could plan for before, but perhaps not everyone did.

In the end it doesnt really matter since those extra days are accounted for in the time management portion of the game.

The game becomes somewhat of a slog until the next event happens.

No. Every one.
Every dungeon will require more than one day to reach the treasure. It may not be in the middle of it. The Pyramid one had the roadblock right at the beginning.
As did the bank. As did Madarame, which then has a second roadblock later on.

Think back to Persona 4. Most of it's dungeons can be done on the first time you enter them. You only need one day from start to finish if you stocked up on enough SP restoring items.

finish palaces early mean more feature unlock, more story unlock, and most importantly more confindants will be available, it's advice to do palace ASAP except for certain palaces that need to do in last day
