Using a controller?

anyone know how to get my controller working (dual sense ps5 controller) i have tried launching the game in big picture mode the controller works in big picture mode but not in game and in the test section of the settings. launched game and selected gamepad settings inside game and checked force controller or whatever it is. have also tried using ds4 program as well

any ideas?

it should just work so long as you have playstation controllers enabled in steam input.

Go into options, go to controller tab and turn detect controller to off

Ok thanks got it working, but no matter what I do it shows xbox layout is this the only one?

I've tried disabling steam Input
And turning on playstation support
Am playing wirelessly

The way I got it to work was to do what herbalsummer said and disabling steam input. But if that's not working for you make sure that "disable gamepad detection" is enabled in the actual game's options under "controls>gamepad". I would also make sure the controller is not using anything like DS4 either. I'm playing wired and with a dualsense, so that may be a factor?

I started playing the game a couple days ago and tried my dual sense but at first it only displayed Xbox icons then I changed something in steam settings and then was able to see the ps icons and now after this 1/22/24 update it only shows xbox icons. If anybody knows a way to make this work 100% of the time pls let me know thank you.

They removed HID support from the game, it no longer supports PlayStation controllers.

I was able to get input working again by rolling-back to the November patch.

For anyone who needs the last version of the game with working input. Run this: steam://nav/console, and then type the following

download_depot 1681430 1681431 1671198095114454644

It'll download the old version of the game with support for PlayStation controllers.
