I mean ya Iris wasn't immortal as well, but she and her mom also never aged for thousand+ years
So there's no proof of what state Clara was in or if she lived long beyond it. Even if we were to presume she somehow left her all of her supplies, she and paa were already short on resources and Iris can't stay or take her with her... It's grim, but she probably didn't make it long.
Pretty sure Iris was only "immortal" due to the occupant to begin with.
I don't think she ever did go back to her mother. Remember Secretary says a few times that in communion you can only see what Iris experienced *or dreamt*. I think she wanted to go back, but it was probably already too late. It is somewhat ambiguous, but given she's in full ALLMO suit, I think it's implied this is many years after she left.
