I won't be able to stream its normal user interface, which is not the end of the world.
But also it doesn't seem to be able to run games that use Steam Deck specific features, like Aperture Desk Job.
So the only things it'll be able to stream are a standard desktop running standard PC games. I already have a device for that which runs games much faster. I'd rather stream the Steam Deck being the Steam Deck.
Or rather, I used to. This has taken so long to fix the hype has died down and I no longer care.
There was a noticeable but small drop in performance on the Steam Deck, but the performance of the stream itself was unacceptable. It was blurry and choppy.
Perhaps I'll give that workaround another go but I'd still rather just be able to do the same display mirroring I'm able to do in desktop mode.
you could always get a hdmi splitter where one input can be turned into two, i know some people who have done that for other HDMI only consoles. i am also considering it myself.
Nice idea, I've taken to just unplugging the HDMI cable from the dock until I want to play it on the monitor. Pretty ugly solutions huh Valve, come on!
Would absolutely love for this feature to be implemented
I would love to have dual screen support in game mode. It would be much less clunky than having to switch to desktop mode every time I want to use dual screen.
