Perhaps a future, smaller "Steam Deck Lite" with a die shrink for lower power consumption. I wouldn't be averse to that, but I'm not holding my breath.
Should we not discuss suggestions on the Steam discussion boards? Maybe you would feel better if any posts after the initial one weren't allowed?
But I agree that the current size and weight of GPD mean it is not something I would take for some small gaming in the middle of a longer trip that are for leisure or such, as it's essentially half a laptop, thus limiting its place to when I might have enough extra time where I would have consider bringing the laptop yet having the Steam Deck as a lighter option. If its weight is more like an iPad it can be used in more situation and be more realistic to bring along, but balance with performance is something difficult to achieve,
