Please make Steam Deck 2 more portable, detachable controllers

Hi Valve! Enjoying my deck, but it lack of portability tbh. Please make 2.0 or "mini" version with detachable controllers (like switch) It'll be my dream console really.

Considering that's an Indiegogo project that is supposed to ship next year, it definitely does not "already exist." It might be great, but I'd reserve judgment until after it's released.

Yeah, the downside to detachable controllers is that mounting mechanism adds weight, size, and complexity. The specs for the OneXPlayer 2 say it weighs 848g, which is a hefty increase over the Deck's already-chonky 669g.

I'm not sure how adding a feature that requires you to find a table would make the system more portable.

The detachable controllers are my least favorite Switch feature. The Switch Lite feels much more solid in comparison to me.

Perhaps a future, smaller "Steam Deck Lite" with a die shrink for lower power consumption. I wouldn't be averse to that, but I'm not holding my breath.

There are multiple third party vendors that ship various computers that can be used for gaming, some lighter and more portable than the current Steam Deck, like GPD and such.

But I agree that the current size and weight of GPD mean it is not something I would take for some small gaming in the middle of a longer trip that are for leisure or such, as it's essentially half a laptop, thus limiting its place to when I might have enough extra time where I would have consider bringing the laptop yet having the Steam Deck as a lighter option. If its weight is more like an iPad it can be used in more situation and be more realistic to bring along, but balance with performance is something difficult to achieve,
