Turn off display while downloading

I think there should really be an option to turn off the screen completely while downloading games, because as far as I know, there is only the option to dim it. But when I am downloading games over night, I don't want my screen to light up (and also it might prevent burn in of the screen)

Edit: Workaround: Download in Desktop mode. The screen will turn off after ~2 min

I was looking for this as well. Here's the solution that I found. Just exit to desktop mode. Go to settings. Power management. Energy Saving. Make sure you disable suspend session or it will go to sleep. If you have Steam open it will continue to download and you can set an amount of time for the screen to turn off.
I agree though it would be helpful if this option was available directly in the big screen interface

Yes, thanks. Would still be nice if this could be set in Game Mode as well. (Added it to the post as a workaround)

Yup, this absolutely needs to be a thing! Just a little toggle in Quick Settings in with the toggles under Other "Lock device, Turn off screen, Screen off" or whatever they want to call it and when you toggle it a little 5 second timer displays and bam, screen turns off. Turning the screen back on by double tapping the screen or pressing the Steam/••• Button. Maybe it's far more complicated than it seems because to me, that's a basic feature that should already be implemented. Hope something like that gets added soon! Stay patient all, Valve has us <3

Then it turns off WiFi connectivity so nothing will download.
People want to queue up downloads or like scrapers or something and let it run while the screen is off.

This is a workaround and not a fix. This should be a feature even for people not wanting to enter desktop mode. If the SD ever wants to be a console-like experience, this should be a feature that must be added. And I can't imagine it being to hard to add
