It did work when I first got the deck, it seems to have stopped working in one of the updates or after I re-imaged it.
maybe its an oversight on the recovery image? allthough so far i havent heard about a single person who got it to work with an xbox controller

The Xbox controller needed a firmware update before it would work; the PlayStation controller worked as-is.
When it's in sleep mode it does boot up when i press the xbox button but only if used within 10 minutes of the deck being put to 'sleep' anymore than 10 minutes when I press the xbox button it then doesn't wake my deck on either docked mode or handheld.
FYI - Xbox Controller is up to date and is the latest xbox controller available.
Also just verified that if I forget the controller and then repair it, the Xbox controller works to wake the deck if you don't restart the system. Once restarted the steam deck seems to forget how to allow the Xbox controller to wake it up.
