Steam Deck

Steam Deck

I have an issue with my L1 button
Recently, I noticed that the casing along the left side of my Steam Deck was partially open despite no recollection of dropping it. I sealed it back up without thinking, and now the L1 button is no longer a perfect fit.

Inputs still register just fine, but it gets partially stuck when pressed and has less range of movement when pressed from the right corner. Pressing the L2 button all the way in causes L1 to pop back out. Looking at it now, I also see L1 is further back than R1.

Is this easy to fix on my own? I could probably loosen the screws on the left-hand side and adjust the button's placement, but I worry that could make things worse.

taking the back cover off is not very hard, just make sure you don't leave any marks in case there is a bigger issue

Ifixit has a guide, so you can see how it all fits together. Looks like you've got to take out quite a few bits before you can access that part properly.
