that one isnt updated (and uses an outdated version of python libraries which prevents it to work; maybe someone could port all code to python 3, who knows), but there are forks based in it, and i think some versions were supossed to run in steam deck. is like a driver + app that allows you to set your own steam control profiles without having to launch steam client, so you can use it with other games and emulators too.

you could try luck with this one:

To get the emulators to recognize the steam deck controllers, you need to go into the input settings and select "SDL/0" in the dropdown. Once you do that, you can even edit the controller configuration within steam, like any modern game.
Its Baffle me that Epsxe and Duck Station doesn't have "Always launch in Big Screen Mode" Toggle Like Steam Does, to the point i need to write those parameters in to get what i wanted. Its Work Once then no more somehow
Anyway i got myself some 1,5 TB Micro SD for my Old Game Hoarding Tendency i gonna put The ROM and ISOS there and Emulator / PC Game at SSD, wish me luck maybe
