Decky Loader stop working on my Steam Deck

So I’ve been trying to reinstall Decky after the steam update and no matter what I do. It never seems to show up. I’m on stable steam os right now.

I just rolled back to s.os version 3.5.19. Still doesn’t work.

I’ve tried removing the config files and reinstalling it. Didn’t work

Got the latest .desktop file from github. Didn’t work

If anyone has a fix to this, that would be wonderful.

I recently tried to use Decky (I had not used it before) and it constantly crashes, even has been the cause of some games crashing. I use both Beta client and OS channels, as well as preview version of Decky. Tried switching to stable channels on the three, to no avail. I gave up.

My experience with the Steam Deck has been flawless as it is. I thought I would make use of the plugins more, but I was wrong (I got my SD last june).

Of the only plugins I find useful, and wish Valve would implement in a similar fashion to smartphones is USB connectivity (Dual role) to transfer files from and to the SD via MTP, ideally via a toggle upon connection, like Android, so not to mess anything else...

People need to stop being so quick to recommend decky loader.....it works via a total hack to hook its way into the steam UI, if and when valve change anything about steam, decky is likely to break. Sometimes it breaks so badly that it bricks peoples decks. One day it just stopped showing up for me like that and there is no fix, so i uninstalled it and forgot about it.

There should be an option in your home menu that you used to install it; "Install Decky"

Every time you remove it you can just re-install it, unless you have something else interfering.
