Game recommendations
Anybody got any good steam deck game recommendations?

Don’t care for
souls like games
platformers
Side-scrollers
Top-down

Games I’ve enjoyed on the SD

Shadows of Doubt (not because it was a detective game but a big fan of the small details included )
Portal 1&2 (don’t usually like puzzles though)
Mount & blade series
Ready or Not (real tactical games get me every time)
Only thing these games really have in common are unique mechanics

I've played the newer installments of Shelock Holmes games (Crimes & Punishment, Devil's Daughter and Awakened Remake) just fine on Deck, with frames caped at 40, and had a rather nice experience.

Added the invincible to the wishlist , thanks
If you have money I recommend:

Hades

Top-down roguelike.
Fluid combat, persistent progression, and an immersive narrative with well-developed mythological characters.

Katana ZERO

Side-scrolling platform/action.Time manipulation mechanics, fast combat, and an intriguing narrative.

Dead Cells

Metroidvania/Roguelike.Excellent mix of exploration and combat, with a sense of progressive challenge.

I don't have money to buy them but I saw the story on YT
Shadow of Mordor/War they have combat like the Gotham Series, but a better open worlds system.

Its story driven and somewhat linear, but that guided experience makes it a nice game to just play without worrying about your decisions having any impact.
The combat isnt particularly special, but it is enjoyable, and engaging.
combat is also somewhat sparse as the focus of the game is story and guided exploration.
It isnt particularly difficult, and doesn't force you to push through previously explored areas. death only forces you to restart the current fight from the beginning, because the puzzle based nature of the game really looses its charm on a second playthrough. the puzzles can be somewhat difficult at times, but shouldnt require you to back-track very far in-order to solve, as they are mostly contained within themselves.
