How to mount CD required ISO’ on steam deck?
Been wondering this for weeks, i tried mounting with tools like PowerISO and while it did “mount” the game, it wasnt in the way i expected, when i mount games using tools like WinCDEmu on my windows computer, i get a whole menu for the game, and it gives me options to select my folder location, and to install the game. How do i get that same kind of menu prompt on my steam deck? Like is there a linux version of winCDEmu?

It won't really work even if you mount it in Linux. Extract the iso (as you would a zip file) for installation and use a nocd patch if the game has cd-checking DRM.

Drop to Desktop, insert the disk, should be mounted under /run/media/deck/{disk_label}. At this point, you can run any setup or install program. You will most likely need to use a nocd patch, there are only a handful games and programs that can run off the CD through Wine on Linux. Most games allow you to copy the CD contents onto the game data and use the CD as copy protection (secuROM, etc)

Check here: There's a plugin. You need to install it.

mount ISO and power ISO works great at mounting and reading ISO in desktop mode. However, I am in the same boat as you when it comes to getting game mode to recognize ISO to run games.. I don't think it's possible. Like others have mentioned nocd crack is the way to go... if you have an old obscure game that wasn't popular enough to have a nocd crack, then you are out of luck.
If you couldn't get this working, and if the game you're trying to play is too obscure to have a nocd crack, it's fairly easy to create one with x32dbg and a hex editor of your choice. I've created some for the 90's South Park PC games.

Thing is i actually tried that too but no matter what i keep getting the same no cd inserted error, and i couldve sworn i pinpointed the error message too…
The video i watch about it was reallt specific tho. Like what im trying to fix doesnt have a jmp sort of situation. The no cd error is all by itself if that makes sense.
And i couldnt find a command equivalent to “EB” that can just skip over a single line
Did you?
Its been a while so I can't exactly remember what I saw and changed, but o could give it a shot if I may ask what game?
Its uhhhh a specific visual novel
